Working as a school counselor has many facets. The big key skill is to listen to the students and offer help and advice on personal issues, course selection, college planning, and career choices. It is exciting with a lot of demands and different tasks to do in a given day. I like to have fun but keep it serious too. I have derived a lot of satisfaction in seeing my students grow and go onto bigger and better things, knowing that I played a role in them finding their way. It is a cool job.
