Messages from Society in general:
You shouldn't study government, you should go to law school / you should go to business school (told to me by lawyers and MBAs)
How I responded:
Studying government and politics is not only interesting but useful in many ways. You learn about leadership, trends, decisions, the struggles of minority groups and how decide what policies and societal values you believe in. This information and way of thinking about the world is important to any career. I think it is (and has turned out for me) to be more useful than a specialized study of just law or business.
